Interview with Carole Brendel, Ph.D., PPD (a Contract Research Organization)

1. How did you decide to transfer from Academia into your current career path? At the end of my doctorate, it was clear that my chances of getting a full time research position in French academia were very thin. There was, and still is, a shortage of positions and competition is fierce. I did not feel like moving abroad for a postdoc and working night and day in a laboratory anymore. The repetitive tasks and the frustration of negative results were taking a toll on me. I also wanted to get a real professional status, and a decent salary.
